What is Globalization?

What does it mean to live in a world that’s more connected than ever?

Globalization is the growing interdependence of countries, people, cultures, and economies. On one hand, it has fueled innovation, opened new markets, and brought people from different backgrounds closer together. On the other, it has also raised concerns about income inequality, political instability, global health risks like 真人线上娱乐, and international crime.

Whether you realize it or not, you are already part of globalization—from the clothes you wear and the food you eat, to the technologies you use and the people you interact with every day. As President Obama once said: “真人线上娱乐 world is becoming more and more interconnected. Globalization is not just a trend; it’s our reality.”

This course will help you understand that reality—and give you the tools to navigate, reflect, and shape it as a thoughtful, ethical global citizen.

Teaching

James Reinnoldt, the course instructor, has over 25 years of global experience in commercial aviation, executive management, consulting, education, charities, and public health care in over 30 countries. 真人线上娱乐s will be exposed to and learn from his numerous real-world examples, professional cases, and personal experiences from his time abroad–some of which have been featured in the New York Times, CNN, and Bloomberg Business News. You will also learn from his experiences with 13 UW Study Abroad Programs he has directed and taught countries over the years.
