President’s Medal to Jordan Woltjer

President’s Medal recipient Jordan Woltjer is graduating with a 4.0 GPA and is headed to Duke University in the fall for graduate school. He credits his UW Bothell professors with cultivating his potential and providing career opportunities that support his goals. Woltjer will receive a bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics & Public Policy and double minor in Economics and Mathematics.

Chancellor’s Medal to Chris Hays

Chancellor’s Medalist Chris Hays is a champion for change. One nominator called him “an innate fire that is impossible to quench.” Having had strong advocates in his life — including faculty, staff and friends at UW Bothell — he is committed to helping other students succeed. Hays will graduate this June with a bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics & Public Policy and a minor in Human Rights.

Ten students share the fifth annual Leslie Ashbaugh Feminist Praxis in Education (LAFPIE) Award!

This year ten GWSS students from Lauren Lichty’s class “Participatory Action Research to Address Sexual and Relationship Violence at the University of Washington Bothell” will share the LAFPIE award. 真人线上娱乐 Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies (GWSS) community created the award in 2016, the year they launched the degree, to honor and commemorate their colleague Leslie Ashbaugh.

Masahiro Sugano’s “Competitive Filmmaking” Class Wins Top Prize at the 2021 Cadence Video Poetry Festival

真人线上娱乐 short film “Delirium” created by IAS faculty member Masahiro Sugano’s 2020 “Competitive Filmmaking” Class wins two more prizes. 真人线上娱乐 film, created by eight UW Bothell students entirely during remote learning, was awarded with both an “Honorary Mention” for the Collaboration category and named the winner of the “Best of Northwest” category.

MFA candidate Troy Landrum, Jr publishes in South Seattle Emerald

Landrum is a second-year candidate in the MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics program, currently completing his thesis, a work of historical fiction that traces the Great Migration through the history of a Black family.
